Inside the file
One page, built for one clear promise.
The printable is deliberately compact. It gives one habit a visible 90-day field instead of turning the page into a crowded dashboard. The blank layout works with any safe, observable daily action you define before Day 1.
- A line for the exact habit rule you will judge each day.
- A separate line for a pre-decided minimum version on difficult days.
- Space to write Day 1 and Day 90 before the attempt begins.
- Ninety numbered boxes arranged in nine rows of ten.
- Three end-of-attempt prompts: what the attempt proved, what made completion easier, and what the next attempt should protect.
- Publisher attribution and the source URL, so a loose printed page still has context.
Printing guide
Print it at the size it was designed for.
- Match the paper.Use the A4 file for 210 × 297 mm paper or the U.S. Letter file for 8.5 × 11 inch paper.
- Choose portrait. The tracker is designed as a single portrait page with all 90 boxes visible at once.
- Keep the scale honest.Select Actual size or 100% when your printer allows it. Avoid enlarging the page beyond the printable area.
- Remove browser decoration. If printing from a browser, turn off optional headers and footers so the URL and date are not added around the PDF.
- Check one preview.Confirm that the footer and outer boxes sit inside the print preview before committing ink and paper.
The warm accent is not required to understand the layout, so the tracker remains usable when printed in grayscale. A clipboard, notebook cover, or other visible location usually makes the sheet more useful than filing it out of sight.
Daily protocol
Mark evidence, not intention.
Write a completion rule that an outside observer could recognize. “Read 10 pages before bed” has a finish line; “read more” does not. If you need help turning a broad goal into a measurable action, start with the habit rule chooser before printing.
- Define done.Write one action, quantity, duration, or visible artifact in the Habit Rule line.
- Set the floor early.Decide the minimum version before a difficult day. Do not invent a smaller rule after the deadline passes.
- Mark the same day.Fill the numbered box only after the action is complete, while the evidence is still clear.
- Leave misses visible. An empty or deliberately marked box is more useful than retroactively polishing the record.
- Review the system. After Day 90—or when an attempt ends—answer the three prompts before choosing the next rule.
Choose the contract
The same sheet can record strict or flexible tracking.
Strict consecutive attempt
Every required day must be completed. A miss ends that attempt, even though the marked boxes remain honest evidence of the work you did.
Flexible 90-day window
The dates stay fixed and misses remain visible, but you continue through Day 90. The sheet records the window rather than promising 90 consecutive completions.
Write the chosen tracking rule beside the sheet or in a separate 90-day challenge contract. The PDF does not enforce either method. See You in 90 uses the strict consecutive version in the iPhone app; the printable stays neutral so you can choose deliberately.
Format limits
Know what the printable does not do.
A paper overview is useful when you want a quiet, glanceable record. It is a poor fit when you need automatic dates, searchable notes, reminders, formulas, or a record across devices.
- It does not calculate Day 90 or label individual calendar dates.
- It does not send reminders or decide whether an ambiguous action counted.
- It is not an interactive or fillable PDF form.
- It does not sync, back up, or recover a lost paper copy.
- It does not prescribe a safe habit or replace qualified medical advice.
If you want formulas, daily evidence columns, and weekly reviews, use the Google Sheets-ready habit tracker workbook instead.
Common questions
Printable habit tracker FAQ
Is the printable habit tracker really free?
Yes. Both PDF files download directly without an account, email address, purchase, or app installation.
Should I choose A4 or U.S. Letter?
Choose the file that matches your physical paper: A4 is 210 × 297 mm; U.S. Letter is 8.5 × 11 inches. The content is otherwise the same.
Can I type into the PDF before printing?
No. It is a static, print-first PDF rather than a fillable form. Use the spreadsheet version if you want to enter and calculate information digitally.
Does the tracker calculate my Day 90 date?
No. Write Day 1 and Day 90 on the page yourself, or use the free Day 90 calculator to calculate the dates first.
Does one missed day require a reset?
Only if you chose a strict consecutive rule before Day 1. In a flexible 90-day window, leave the miss visible and continue. The paper tracker itself does not impose either rule.
